Roscoe’s House of Chicken’ N Waffles

Roscoe’s House of Chicken’ N Waffles Hollywood Exterior

Dinner tonight was at the original Roscoe’s House of Chicken’ N Waffles in Hollywood (just off Sunset Boulevard on Gower Street). I’ve wanted to eat there for years, but got terribly lost the last time I tried to find it.

It was everything I had hoped for–great atmosphere and great fried chicken and waffles. The dining room was much smaller than I was expecting, but we got there early (by L.A. standards) and had no problem getting a table. I brought two pieces back to the room and just finished a late night snack.

By the way, I think the local CBS affiliate station was across the street–home to Little Paulie Majors!

The Belamar Hotel Manhattan Beach California

Today I flew to Los Angeles on the local “They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named” airline (Sun Country was completely booked). What happens when you fire all of your mechanics? I guess it makes maintenance delays last longer, as we had to sit on a full plane for almost an hour while they messed with the wing flaps. And how much would it cost to not charge for $2 snacks on a flight that’s been delayed?

On a more positive note, the hotel we are at has been wonderful. Very “W” like, but much smaller and more personable. The staff has been just great so far–very focused on customer service and providing a good experience. Great overall atmosphere and free in-room Internet too. All for under $170 per night–not bad for SoCal, eh?
