Braemar Course Notes

Last weekend we picked the only rainy day in weeks to play Braemar Golf Course in Edina. As long as there is no lightning, I don’t really mind playing in the rain. It also had the benefit of clearing out the crowds–something Braemar usually has plenty of on weekends.

We played holes 10-27 (the Hays and Clunie nines), which play to 6,377 yards from the tips (70.7 rating and 126 slope). I haven’t been a huge fan of the newer holes on the third nine, but they were fine this time–plus we got to play the excellent par-3 twelfth hole (although most of the tee boxes were being re-seeded).

John Valliere is the general manager of Braemar, currently serves as the president of the Minnesota Golf Association and also acts as one of the primary forces behind the Explore Minnesota Golf Alliance. That’s one busy Minnesota golf schedule!

Nice to see the Braemar website get a well-done design makeover also…
