The ninth annual Trent Tucker Golf Tournament that was to be held on Saturday, September 8th at Rush Creek has been canceled.

The official word on their website read:

“Due to the lack of sponsorship dollars the 9th Annual Trent Tucker Celebrity Golf & Poker Tournament has been cancelled. We hope you will continue to support our event in the future.”

A strange series of events preceded this notice. First, a Rush Creek email newsletter said:

“Please be aware that changes have been made to the Trent Tucker Event – NO PUBLIC SPECTATORS WILL BE ALLOWED. Thank you to all of you who have volunteered your assistance, but it will not be needed.”

A day later, another Rush Creek email said the event was off and tee times were now available for Saturday.

We wish the Trent Tucker organization the best of luck in finding new sponsors and returning to the Minnesota golf scene in 2008.
