Golfweek Writer Klein Visits Northland

Golfweek magazine architecture columnist and Donald Ross expert Bradley Klein was in Duluth yesterday to visit Northland Country Club and meet with members.

Klein wrote the book Discovering Donald Ross: The Architect and his Golf Courses that was published in 2001. As a big fan of Ross courses, I own this book and wish I could have been there to have it signed. If you don’t have a copy, I highly recommend clicking on the Amazon link above and getting one. A bit pricey, but well worth it.

Klein actually spent two days at the course, first touring and taking notes with the Green Committee and members of the Northland board, then playing the course on Wednesday. Later that evening, he did a two hour presentation to club members discussing his visit and expressing his opinions on the course.

The Northland blog has great coverage of the visit and here is a link to a Duluth News Tribune story. Also be sure to take a look at this great 1939 aerial photo of the course.
