Kid one and two, Minnesota History Center, Saint Paul, Minnesota

I think my absolute favorite things at the Minnesota Historical Society’s 1968 exhibit were the free reproductions of the December 24, 1968 edition of the Minneapolis Tribune newspaper. Not just one page – the whole edition: sports, comics, stock quotes, obits, etc. So fun to see ads for Dayton’s and Donaldson’s department stores again…
The other part of the exhibit that I found fascinating was the section that talked about Robert Kennedy’s assassination. There was a multimedia display that cycled through still photographs of people lining the route his funeral train traveled between New York and Washington, D.C. The quality of the photos were amazing – someone did an awesome restoration job.
The exhibit is open through February 20, 2012, but if you catch it in the next few days, you’ll save a dollar on admission.
I’ve hammered a smile across this pasty face of mine since the day I was born in 1975.
