Instead of video games that take batteries and software, our kids will play with squirrels!
I may be biased, but I don’t know anyone who likes The Quarry more than The Wilderness
Lots of variety today at work – vendor discussions, a new iPad config, web development, online gaming, facilities planning and HR stuff
Must have been a boring Olympic night – fell asleep before 8 and didn’t get up until the sun was shining
Pretty awesome day today and now I get to relax with some tape-delayed London action
Heh – “The Oak Tree” by Morris Day just came up on shuffle play
So I got a free four-hour pass to watch, only to find frequent, random commercials that happen right in the middle of action
So you have to be a cable TV subscriber to watch the NBC online coverage? My $62 a month for internet isn’t enough?
Got quality and skill both beyond belief…
Safely back in the office – wasn’t I just here?
Week two is in the books and things are progressing nicely (as the graph above shows). The knee felt a little off this week, but still far from anything I’d consider painful. Heels are still sore (I’m sure the standing desk routine isn’t helping with that), but the stretches feel good and I’m just glad to be building up mileage again.
Only other note from this week of training was a reminder of the importance to remain flexible with scheduling. So many people get stressed out by having to miss a day or changing things up, but life happens. I didn’t follow the plan exactly this week, but still ended up doing all of the miles eventually.
30 miles on tap for this week…
The Fit has a 10.6 gallon tank, the fuel light comes on with 1.6 left and I’m getting 34 city and 37 highway so far
Wonder what I forgot to pack this week
Ran 9 steamy miles in Eagan and Apple Valley – late night runs on moonlit trails do have a certain charm to them
I guess 75F, 78% humidity and 68F dew point are as good as it gets – off for my run
That was one expensive Target trip – school supplies, groceries, running shirt and some cheap sunglasses
Today’s tasks have been pre-empted by women’s beach volleyball
Slept in, but have mowing, laundry, paperwork, Target run and 9 miles on the agenda before early commute tomorrow
I don’t know about that title, but Paul, Peter, Tommy and their pals put on a pretty good show last night at Fortune Bay in Tower, Minnesota. The crowd was older (as expected), but everyone seemed to really get into it, highlighted by the audience participation during I’m Henery the Eighth, I Am.
Other song highlights included Hanky Panky, Crimson and Clover, I Think We’re Alone Now and the potentially troublesome Indian Reservation (with the lyrics changed to Chippewa Nation).
I shot the meet and greet before the show and continued shooting during all three acts (see after the jump or visit the Fortune Bay Facebook page). Peter Noone and Paul Revere both signed autographs after their sets and everyone seemed friendly.
Attendance for the show was around 1600 and Lynyrd Skynyrd is up next on August 11.
…it makes her Daddy laugh, it’s her magic trick…
