Le Sueur Country Club

As the temps are just about to plunge toward zero this weekend, it’s nice to think back to last September 19th and my second new course in 2015. The Miller brothers have played here a number of times, but this was my first visit to Le Sueur Country Club. Located about an hour from home, it’s a straight shot down highway 169 towards Mankato (although we took the back roads).

LSCC is a semi-private course and the normal non-member green fees are $50 all the time. Brad had purchased certificates somewhere, so it cost us less than that. Carts were not available that day, but we planned to walk the hilly course either way (see pics after the jump). The par 70/72 course has four sets of tees and we played the par 72 blue tees at 6117 yards (the tips were 6365 yards, while the whites were only 5329).

Don’t really have much of a review or many opinions to share on this layout. Pace of play was very slow – I’m sure a lot of those walkers were used to having carts, which didn’t help. The elevation changes were cool, but also lead to a lot of missing local knowledge that I wish I’d had before playing those holes. Had a decent sandwich at the turn while we waited for the backup to clear on the par three tenth hole, but that’s about it.
