Tapemark Charity Pro-Am Day One

High winds, firm greens and tight pin placements greeted players in the first round of the Tapemark Charity Pro-Am at Southview Country Club in West St. Paul.

NGA Tour professional John Carlson has the 18 hole pro lead after shooting a six-under 65. Jeff Sorenson from Columbia is three shots back, with a large group chasing those two at 69 and 70.

The team of Kolb, Hilding, Reinhart and Gilroy leads the amateur team competition at 22-under. Southview member Pete LaCoursiere shot the low amateur score of the day, a four-over 75.

Average score for the entire field was 86 (75 for professionals), with the short, downwind par-five fourth hole the easiest and the short, par-four first hole the most difficult (5.18 average score).

Play continues today with a 36-hole cut tonight. Spectators welcome!
