Minnewaska Captures Third Straight Title


The Minnewaska girls golf team won their third straight MSHSL title today at the Ridges of Sand Creek in Jordan, beating second place Red Wing by 54 shots.

The Lakers were led by the Roering sisters, who placed first and third overall. Sarah Roering took medalist honors, shooting 77-80-157.

On the boys side, Orono and Detroit Lakes shared the 2008 class AA title with 639 totals. Senior Robert Bell of Pierz was the class AA boys champion, shooting 77-74-151 to win by three strokes over Andrew Oakes of Hermantown.
