Practice Rounds Begin Today at Interlachen


The first of three practice rounds for the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open begin today at Interlachen in Edina. Golfing in Minnesota will be on site tomorrow and Wednesday taking pictures, so check back frequently this week.

According to LPGA.com, there are 155 entrants in the final field, including 27 amateurs and all of the top 50 players on the 2008 money list. The total purse for the event is $3.1 million, with a first place check of $560,000 (the largest purse in women’s golf).
