Golfing Near Itasca State Park

This weekend my family and I visited Itasca State Park north of Park Rapids. While I did not bring my clubs with, there were many courses on the drive up that made me wish I did.

Heading west on I-94 from the metro area, you catch a glimpse of Albany Golf Club on your right. Exiting at Sauk Centre and heading north on highway 71, you soon pass the Tom Lehman-designed GreyStone Golf Club, also on your right.

Just past Wadena is White Tail Run Golf Course, followed by the Joel Goldstrand-designed Blueberry Pines Golf Course just north of Menahga (15th green pictured above). Several other courses lie just off highway 71, including the scenic Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids.

Have you played any of these courses? Leave us a comment with your recommendations…
